Duty Free San Diego

SAN was one of the first projects that I was able to stray from our client's standards for design. The proposal called for a regional adaptation of the brand. After winning the  proposal with an open design that integrated an art glass wall and mosaic entryway, the airport completely changed the store's footprint. The revised design pulled elements from the initial concept, while addressing the new condition of a relatively dark corridor. Demo of the existing space uncovered countless site conditions that I had to immediately address during the construction phase while work continued 24 hours a day.
